IMCA Nations Cup 2002 (Ostend, August 29-September 1)
MELLO YELLO: JOHN BROWN FIRST KID

The British national coach, Andy Brown-Searle, invested lots of time in the training of his both kids, John Brown and Andrew Aynsley, rather than to defend his own chances. At the EuroNats that efforts resulted in an unexpected place at the Semis by Andrew Aynsley. He and John Brown had no problems to qualify for the Main at the Mello Yello. Here John Brown was faster than Andrew, and finished 5th as first kid, just behind the Italian pro Daniele Malangone. Aynsley finished 7th. Both British youngsters were also present at the IMCA Model Car Worlds where Brown was 21st, Aynsley 20th. Thanks to his rank as first kid at the Mello Yello Brown won the trophy for the most promessing youngster. Other candidates were Yannick Demeyer (second kid at the Mello Yello), Australia's Kieran Dale, New Zealand's Joel Mallary and of course also Aynsley.
