IMCA Nations Cup 2002 (Ostend, August 29-September 1)
MELLO YELLO: 1. KOREC, 2. POLEDNA, 3. PIKI

They dominated the Mello Yello Junior World Championship from strart to finish, with f.l.t.r. "Piki" van Rossem (3rd), Josef Korec (winner) and Frankie Poledna (2nd). They were already present at the Mechelen Mello Yello of 1994 where "Piki" won ahead of Poledna. Korec, having been disqualified for two rounds out of ten, finished 7th. Next year Korec and Poledna are older than 25. They'll be replaced by Antonin Vojtek. "Piki" can make his last Mello Yello. Earlier he finished 1st in 1994, 7th in 2000, 2nd in 2001 and now 3rd. He can be the first youngster to have won twice the Mello Yello.  Pic: Bob Demeyer.
