DEMOEN & AYNSLEY, FIGHTING FOR M-Y

The EuroNats decide year after year who of all kids and all youngsters can make the move to the M-Y, the Mello Yello Junior World Championship. Here two serious candidates: Belgium's Olivier Demoen and England's Andrew Aynsley. Demoen contested the Old-Timer Race, the Open G-12 (with a simple production G-10 car) and the EuroNats. His results at such high level were much better than last year. At the EuroNats he finished 47th, letting several top racers behind. However it was 7 laps short to be qualified for the M-Y. Andrew Aynsley realised even a semi final and finished 17th overall at the EuroNats. He also qualified for the main at the Mello Yello where he finished 7th. At the Worlds he missed the semis for less than one lap and finished 20th, showing a net progress as compared with last year! Pic: Bob Demeyer.
