Wing-car world champion Juha Yli-Sipola (SF) made not only his first Open G-12 race, also his first model car races. He entered a Tony Stewart Home Depot Grand Prix, built by JPVR and adapted at JP's driving style. (It's not the car on the pic, which is Wade Haddock's). At no moment congenial Juha found the correct set-up of his car, something what was universal among all Finnish racers, except for Matti Fyhr. Juha discovered that it's more difficult to drive a slow model car at 25 kph than an extremely fast G-7 wing car going far above 120 kph. Now it's up to Matti to explain his country mates how to do the set-up of a model car. Pic: Wade Haddock. |
