There can be little doubt, if the Old-Timer Concourse should have gone under the rules from 1994 and 1995, there could only be one winner, even if Russell Sheldon should have showed with a Luigi BMW 3.0 CSL WITH interior. Indeed, the copy Einari Fyhr made of the Matti Heikki Kemiläinen Escort I RS1600, should have scored, on working with the old objective scorelist 19.5/20, against 16/20 for Jozef Miskolci's Zakspeed Escort I RS2000. Miskolci should have lost 1 point for a "non correct exhaust pipe", 1 point for the black lines, 1 point for the "non correct wheel inserts" and 1 point for the "missing wipers". Einari Fyhr's model should have lost only 1 point for the "missing wipers", but have won an extra 0.5 point for the added front spoiler. Under the new formula, an adaption of the 1994-1995 Concourse Rules, article 11 gives an expert's jury the necessary time to study the 10 or 12 most beautiful cars. But let's imagine one moment that all Concourse voting should have gone under the old rules, then Einari Fyhr should at all cases having finished first or second if one considers also his n°6 Viagra Ford Taurus. For model car racers Concourse is at least as important as racing. At the famous Dieter Jens Classic Le Mans Rennen the final ranking of all racers is based for 50% on Concourse, for 50% on Racing. One should also admire the perfect decals on Einari's n°31 and the perfect painting. Even the little decals on the front lights were not forgotten. Add to the car two mirrors, a roll bar and two wipers and you have a perfect model car which even Olaf Wachsmuth of White Point should have left dreaming. |

The n°31 Escort RS1600 MkI was presented at Concourse with an old article found back in a Finnish racing magazine. Unfortunately only our Finnish friends are able to understand the text. Pics: Einari Fyhr. |
