Just before the start we see George Kimber (GB, 49), Piero Castricone (126),  Neil Stewart (USA, 624), Chris Radisich (NZ, 254), Einari Fyhr (SF, 19), Mario Schöne (D, 4), Salvatore Noviello (I, 35) and Frantisek Poledna (CZ, 30). The three major favourites were Poledna (winner at the Minden German Masters G-12), Einari Fyhr (unbeatable in G-12 at the Finnish Nats) and Neal Stewart (winner of this year's Seattle Slug Fest). However it was New Zealand's Chris Radisich (who TQ-ed earlier!) who was dominating the race with a wonderfull well prepared car.
