CREATION CA-06H (LMP1) & ACURA  ARX-01A (LMP2)

June 8, 2007 - In 2007 the Creation CA06H, being a former LM P675 hybrid specification, didn't meet any longer the new ACO rules. So the two cars were sold res. to Intersport and to Autocon Motorsports where they could be raced in the ALMS despite the fact that they were still equipped with the old Reynard 2KQ chassis. Last year Kieron Salter (ex-Reynard) reworked the chassis and the aero of the body, resulting in the Creation CA06H, that year still good for LMS competition. However, the CA06H has not the double roll hoop structure as required by the LMS for 2007. At the ALMS that structure seems not to be obliged, so that the two 2006 Creations could enter the 2007 ALMS. Intersport's uses the 5.4-litre non turbo aspired Judd motor. Autocon Motorsports, where owner Michael Lewis started the two first rounds with his old MG Lola EX257, opted for the (118 kg) turbo aspired Judd KV675 3.4 litre engine.

RESULTS 2006/2007 - In 2006 the Creation CA06H caused a stir when it entered the two last ALMS rounds, realising the pole and finishing once third and once fourth. Sold to the Americans the car was less convincing in 2007, having realised in the five first round only a seventh and a tenth place as best (Intersport's).

ACURA ARX-01A
Acura is an all-Japanese automobile manufacturer in business since 1986. At their motorsport division they build racing motors and entered in the past several cars in the GrandAm Series. End 2006 they bought from Yves Courage two units of his new Courage LC75 AER. They made some small transformations of the body (especially of the front splitter), and  will put it later on a new ARX Acura chassis. Although the car is a Courage LC75 they let it being raced under the name Acura ARX-01A. They switched the original AER turbocharged 2-litre AER engine for an own Acura 3.4 litre naturally aspirated engine, built by Honda in the United States, and entered up from 2007 the ALMS series. One had been sold to Highcroft Racing, the other to Andretti Green Racing. Both use the Courage LC75 chassis with the modified front splitter.

RESULTS 2007 - At the Sebring 12 hours the AR-01A (Andretti's) finished second overall, winning its class. At the Houston GP the same car was again second overall. The Highcroft ARX-01A         fininshed at the five first rounds once as fourth, twice as fifth and once as sixth. The Acuras are competitive with the Porsches Spyder RX, even with Penske's Evos.
