RACE FACTS - Having finished fourth at the Monza 1,000-kms (with Soheil Ayari and Emmanuel Collard at the wheel) - thus only headed by the three Audis at the three first places - the Pescarolo Judd cars started as the most dangerous outsiders for the Audis. Only 11th on the grid the #18 Pescarolo has a troublefree race, moving into fifth position after the first hour and even second (due to a different pit stop strategy) after the second hour. After the double Audi crash the car can maintain this position until the 17th hour. After three hours the car is one lap plus 1'11 down to the leader. After six hours difference is three laps. At midnight, after eight hours, difference is four laps. It's obvious that the Judd engine has not enough power to follow the mighty Audis, but Comas/Tréluyer/ Ayari defend their third place extremely well.  At mid-race the car is always third, six laps down.
When at 09.46h Benoît Tréluyer goes off the road at the Playstation Chicane, ten minutes are lost in the pits for repair, so that the third place is lost to the #2 Champion Audi R8, making it 1-2-3 for the Audis. After 18 hours of racing the #18 Pescarolo is 13 laps down, followed by the #17 sister car five laps further. Shortly after the #17 will retire. With three hours to go Soheil Ayari has to bring in the car to fix the front bottom plate. Eventually the car, brought home by Eric Comas, will finish fourth, 18 laps down to the winner and 7 laps down to the Champion #5 Audi R8, finishing third.
