HISTORICAL NOTE - The Slot Racing World Cup for Nations was organised for the last time in 2000. Moral winner that year was Spain, but due to a soccer contest, prior to all racing, and won by Belgium, the Belgians could win the World Cup. Now we are going to Spain we wish to organise the World Cup - organised for the first time in 1986 and won by the USA (Profondville) - again. We hope that such event may stay up from now yearly on the international calendar.

Main goal of all world cups was to introduce the "team spirit" in interna-tional racing. Indeed: slot-racing became such an individualistic happe-ning that solidarity became lost in international competition. In world cup racing individual performances don't count. What counts are the results of the national teams the racers are belonging to. This year the World Cup goes over 10 races of 6 x 5' contested with 2006 FIA GT cars at scale 1/24th. Racing with that cars was necessary in order to find the needed sponsor money for the event.

COMPLETE 2006 RULE BOOK

SPECIFIC RULES TO RESPECT AT THE FIA GT RACES

(1) There are always THREE RACERS per car. At each round each of the three racers does two of the six stints.
(2) At each of the 10 FIA GT rounds the cars - GT1 cars as well as GT2 cars - are to stop in the pits to do a
tyre change. The team's technician doing the change has to pick up the tyres at the race director's stand and to bring back the changed tyres IMMEDIATELY after the change.
(3)
No legal tyre change can be done during the two first segments of a race.
(4) Cars having won a round in GT1 and GT2 have to start the following round with
10 grams of BALLAST glued under the front bonnet and this at the highest point. BALLAST can only be removed if the car finishes in the following round(s) NOT in the top-3.
(5) Between 2 rounds all cars go into the
ENCLOSED ZONE where only the race direction is allowed to touch them.  Should a repair be neces-sary it can only be done at the race director's stand, not in the normal pits, and this only after APPROVAL by the race director.

POINTS SYSTEM AT THE WORLD CUP
(1) At CONCOURSE the 8 cars in each class (GT1 & GT2) are ranked. They win for their national team res. 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point(s).
(2) At each FIA GT round the 8 cars in each class (GT1 & GT2) win res. 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point(s).
(3) At the MELLO YELLO WORLDS the 8 first win for their national team res. 20, 15, 12, 9, 6, 3, 2 and 1 point(s). [Gonzalez and Youri race in GT1 for their national team, GT2 for Germany. If they score points at the Mello Yello, those points go ONLY to their own nation].
(4) At the MODEL CAR WORLDS the 8 first win for their nation res. 30, 22.5, 18, 13.5, 9, 4.5, 3 and 1.5 points. Same remark for Youri and for Gonzalez.

THE 40m CARRERA 6-LANER

The World Championship Races (124 Model Car Worlds & Mello Yello Worlds) and the 10 rounds of the World Cup will be exclusively raced on this 40m track. It's a Carrera plastic §-laner. In view of 6 lanes instead of 8 FORMAT of the races was be revisited. At the FIA GT Rounds, counting for the Franco Gianotti Trophy, heat A will go with the 4 Porsches, heat B with the 4 Ferraris F430 GTC and the two slowest GT1 cars, heat C with the six fastest GT1 cars. There will be qualifications starting round #1, and at all other races rank number in the general classification will determine which are the two GT1 cars going to heat B. Winners of a previous round in GT1 and GT2 have to add 10 gram ballast: 5 gram  under the car's bonnet and 5 gram under the car's trunk at the highest point. Ballast may only be removed when the car finishes no longer in the top-3 of its class. At each round one tire change is obliged between segments 3 and 5. Omitting the tire change will be penalised with 50 laps.

JPVR will do the technical direction and confined the technical control exclusively to Kai Kivekäs and Gert Klinge. There can be NO QUESTION that one of the organisers intervenes in the sportmanslike decisions.

All racers are warned that (1) shouting to the marshals will be penalised by a warning the first time, 5 laps penalty the second time, 10 laps penalty the third time and disqualification the fourth time; (2) working at the cars during lane rotation or race tech control will be sanctioned sans merçi by 50 laps penalty; (3) racers without IMCA t-shirt will be not allowed to race; (4) if some racer is seen putting after deslotting without reason his car before the lapcounter will be EXCLUDED for the rest of the meeting. Situations as at Übach-Palenberg will no longer be allowed. Note also that at the World Championship races no other controlers can be used than those fixed to the track. At the 10 rounds of the World Cup racers can use their own controller. Finally note that there will be NO ROOM for endless discussions. The decisions by Kai Kivekäs, Gert Klinge and JPVR need to be respected on sanction of EXCLUSION.
