The 11 rounds of the 2005 FIA GT Championship were won by 7 diffe-rent cars of 4 different makes. Maserati won 4 rounds, Ferrari won 3 rounds, Corvette and Aston Martin won each 2 rounds. There were no wins for Saleen, Lister and Lamborghini. Of the GT1 Ferraris the 575 GTC could win no round at all, finishing only once on the podium. The winningest car was the #11 Larbre Compétition Ferrari 550 Maranello (3 victories), ahead of the #9 Vitaphone Maserati MC12 (2 wins) and the #6 GLPK Corvette MC5 (2 wins). Cars with one victory are the #15 JMB Maserati MC12, the #10 Vitaphone Maserati MC12, the #29 works Aston Martin DBR9 and the #17 R.A.R. Aston Martin DBR9.
During the season 24 GT1 cars were seen at one or more rounds of the FIA GT Championship. Only 8 of them were present at all 11 rounds, and of those 11 the #11 Ferrari 550 Maranello was the lonely one to be brought home at all 11 rounds, and always in the top-7. Most disappointing cars of the 2005 were the Saleens, having never finished on the podium.
In GT2 Gruppe M monopolised all 11 class wins: 6 with the #66 Porsche 996 GT3 RSR and 5 with the sister car #88. Of the 28 different GT2 cars seen during the 2005 season only 4 made all rounds, all Porsches. There were 5 different Modenas in competition, good for 14 entries, but only 3 podiums. Other GT2 cars were the TVR, the Spyker and the Nissan 350Z.

DRIVER'S RANKING IN GT1

Switzerland's Gabriele Gardel is the 2005 FIA GT Champion in GT1. Driving a Larbre Compétion Ferrari 550 Maranello he brought the car home at the 11 rounds he entered. Only one other racer was as consistent, bringing his car home at each of the 11 rounds. It was Portugal's Pedro Lamy, at 9 of the 11 rounds team mate of Gardel on the Ferrari 550 Maran-nello, and at the two remaining rounds (Silverstone and Francorchamps) driver on the works Aston Martin DBR9. With the last car Lamy could not score points despite a victory at Silverstone and a fifth place at the Spa 24 hours. With four overall wins, against three for Gardel, Lamy is the moral winner of the 2005 FIA GT Championship for drivers. Moreover at most 3 hour races where he was paired to Gardel, Lamy did more and longer stints than the racer from Switzerland.
Starting the last round in Bahrein, Gardel was always one point behind the JMB Maserati duo
Karl Wendlinger (A) and  Andrea Bertolini (I), having been leading the driver's standing during most of the season. Having finished the 10 previous rounds always in the top-6 nobody expected that in Bahrein Wendlinger and Bertolini should be out with a broken gearbox after only ...nine of the ninty laps.
Another Maserati duo, now driving a Vitaphone Masera-ti MC12,
Timo Scheider and Michael Bartels, started the last round with an equal number of points as Gardel. When Lamy was at the wheel of Gardel's Ferrari he was mostly leading the Scheider/Bartels Maserati during a 61 laps stint (out of 90 laps). Gardel, however applied a system saving as much fuel of as possible. So the Ferrari had to make only two pitstops for refuelling, while the Vitaphone Maserati had to make at least one more, enough to make the Lamy/Gardel Ferrari finishing ahead of the Scheider/Bartels Maserati. Drama however at the finish, when the scrutineers discovered that the minimum of 3 litres of fuel as scheduled by the rule book was missing. Coup de théâtre when the Lamy/Gardel Ferrari was disqualified, so that Timo Scheider and Bartels were declared to be the 2005 FIA GT Champions in GT1. Jack Leconte, manager of Larbre Compétition, however, went in appeal and obtained that the disqualification was overruled on December 8. So Gardel, eventually won the title.
It's good to remember that without fantastic driving of Pedro Lamy at the Dubai circuit, Gardel should never had won. Indeed, at that race, the Larbre Compétition Ferrari, having replaced its engine during the night, had to start from the real last place on the grid. Lamy, having lapped several rounds faster than the car's fastest qualification time, and being fastest man on the track, succeeded to bring the car back in second position. When
Christophe Bouchut and Stéphane Ortelli had to withdraw their leading R.A.R. Aston Martin DBR9, shortly before the end of the race, Pedro Lamy could catch the lead. After a fantastic and gruelling combat with the Scheider/Bartels Maserati he could take the chequered flag less than a half second ahead of the German pairing! Without Lamy's splendid effort at Dubai Gardel should never have won the title. [JPVR]

DRIVER'S RANKING IN GT2

One can hardly speak of a driver's championship with GT2 cars since only five teams were present at all rounds. Of those five teams the (hidden) works Porsches of Gruppe M were so strong that at no moment there was any competition. Eventually there was only a kind of intramural competition between Marc Lieb and Mike Rockenfeller on the #66 Gruppe M Porsche, and Emmanuel Collard and Tim Sugden on the other #88 Gruppe M.
In that competition both Porsches took at six occasions the two first places in
GT2. At no moment one of the other cars had the smallest chance to beat one of the Gruppe M Porsches. The Lieb/Rockenfeller Porsche finished six times as class winner (finishing each time among the top-10 of the overall standings) and four times as second. The Collard/ Sugden Porsche finished five times as class winner and two times as runner-up.
Second place went at Silverstone to the Embassy Racing Porsche of Cunningham/Collins; at Brno to the Kaufmann and Jurasz Porsche of the Renauer Motorsport Team; at the Spa Francorchamps 24 hours the Autorlando Porsche of Luigi Moccia and Joel Camathias (fired at Graham Nash) finished second; at Zhuhai second place went surprisingly to the new Spyker C8 Roadster (it was the first time of the season that we found not two Porsches at the two first places); and at Bahrein the GPC Ferrari 360 Modena GTC of Luca Drudi won the second place.
Third place in
GT2 went at four occasions to the Ebimotor Porsche of Luigi Moccia/Luigi Businelli; once to the Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 360 Modena GTC of Kinch/Kirkaldy; once to the Lammertink Porsche of Kaufmann/Moro; once to the Czech Porsche of Jan Vonka; twice to the Proton Porsche of the Rieds; and once to the JMB Ferrari 360 Modena GTC of Mauro Casadei and Chris Buncombe. That means that on eight rounds out of eleven the Porsches took the three first places in GT2. Ferrari won only two podium places with its Modena and Spyker won the lonely other podium place.

1 10/04/2005 Italy Monza

The race in Valencia (E) is no longer on the calendar and has been replaced by a round in Istanbul (TRK). Germany looses the round at Hockenheim (D), having been replaced by a round at Bahrein. The British round at Donington has been replaced by a round at Silverstone (GB). The rounds at Monza (I), Magny-Cours (F), Imola (I), Brno (CZ), Spa-Francorchamps (B), Oschersleben (D), Zhuhai (CHN) and Dubai (UEA) have been maintained. There is still no round in the USA, where competition with the IMSA should be too big. Hope that the United Kingdom should obtain a second round, just as Italy and France was idle. Expectations that the German Nürburgring should obtain a round were not well founded.

Driver changes at round #2 (Magny-Cours) -  (1) At round #2 Robert Lechner was replaced by Harald Becker in the #4 Saleen. (2) At round #2 Harald Becker was replaced by Robert Lechner in the #5 Saleen, and Bobby Verdon-Roe by Uwe Alzen. (3) On the #9 Saleen Haupt/Pickering/Gianmaria  were replaced at Magny Cours by the trio Enea Casoni, Philippe Almeras and Roland Berville.  () At the #20 Saleen a third driver was added for Magny-Cours: Andrea Macin.

On the Vonka Racing, now Czech National Team, #56 Porsche Davide Amaduzzi was replaced in Magny Cours by Mauro Casadei.
The #3 G.P.C. Sport Ferrari 575 GTC is not entered at Magny Cours.
Of the earlier anounced "regular" (sic) Porsche entrants the Slovak #57 Porsche was again not present. Absent too were the #63 Renauer Motorsport Porsche, the two Machanek Porsches and the Graham Nasch Porsche. So it seems that there will be no regular championship in GT2 this year.

Driver changes at round #3 (Silverstone) -  The #8 Saleen of GNM changed once more from drivers. At the TT the trio is formed by Marco Panzavuota (I), Luca Pirri Ardizzone (I) and Ryan Hooker (GB). It's a mystery why this guys pay to drive a car too slow to follow the back benchers in GT2. At the #11 Ferrari 550 Maranello Pedro Lamy has been replaced by Fabrizio Gollin (I) since Lamy is a works driver at Aston Martin (present with 2 cars at the 100th Tourist Trophy). On the #56 Porsche 996 GT3-RS Davide Amaduzzi is still replaced by Mauro Casadei, just as it was at Magny-Cours.

None of the two Konrad Saleens S7-R will be entered at the Tourist Trophy. Engineers discovered the origins of the motorproblems, but the spare parts to repair them have to come from the States. The #20 Max Stanco Saleen is also absent. The #12 Larbre Compétition Ferrari 550 Maranello of Bryner/Calderai/Zacchia is absent too. No Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT either at the Tourist Trophy. In GT2 there are again only four regular entrants. Machànek is not there, just as ARC Bratislava, Renauer Motorsport, Mastercar, Ebimotor, RNJ, Scuderia Ecosse. In G2 two other Moslers will start.

Driver changes at round #4 (Imola) - On the #4 Konrad Saleen the duo Lechner/Konrad is replaced by the duo Harald Becker (D)/Antonio Hermann (BR). On the #5 Konrad Saleen drivers are Robert Lechner and Matteo Bobbi, the 2003 FIA GT champion.  On the #9 caroussel Saleen of GNM only Marco Panzavuata stays; co-drivers are now Edo Varini (I) and Enea Casoni.(I). The #12 Larbre Compétition Ferrari F550 Maranello is again absent. The Reiter Engineering Lambor-ghini Murcielago is, just as at Silverstone, again absent.

There is a third driver on the #56 Porsche: Antonio de Castro (I). The #57 ARC Bratislava Porsche will make its first round. The #74 Porsche is back with the same racers as at Monza. At the #85 Cirtek Motorsport Ferrari Modena the duo is the same as at Silverstone. No Eurotech Porsches, no GNM Porsche, no Scuderia Ecosse Modenas, no TVRs, no Sebah Racing Porsche, no Machanek Porsches, no Renauer Porsche, no Embassy Porsche. New are the Lammertink #87 Porsche and the #105 Vertigo. At the #56 Mauro Casadai (I) is co-driver of Jan Vonka.

Driver changes at round #5 (Brno) - In GT1 we note a new entry, that of the #24 Ferrari 575 GTC of Tonda Herbeck (CZ), this year already seen in the Italian GT Championship. Co-driver will be Andrea Montermini (I). The #13 Reiter Lamborghini is back, but Norman Simon will be replaced by Gianni Morbidelli (I). On the GNM #7 Saleen Joel Camathias is no longer driving for the team. At Brno he'll be replaced by Jaroslav Janis (last year seen in the DTM). On the #8 caroussel Saleen drivers are now Luca Pirri (I), Ryan Hooker (GB, already seen at Silverstone) and Robert Senkyr (CZ). Despite continuous changing of drivers this car was brought home at the 4 former rounds (twice as 10th). On the #20 Saleen Maciej Marcinkiewicz is added as third driver. The two Konrad Saleens will be absent at Brno.

On the #56 Porsche Mauro Casadei (I), who was already seen at Magny Cours  will be the co-driver of Jan Vonka (CZ). On the #57 Porsche Attila Barta (HUN) is replaced by Andrej Studenic (CZ) who drove at Monza still for Machanek Racing. At the #63 Porsche Petr Valek (CZ) enters as third driver. Istvan Racz (HUN) moves from the #72 Machanek Porsche to the #71 where he'll replace Andrej Studenic (CZ) who moved to the ARC Bratislava Porsche. On the #86 G.P.C. Sport Ferrari 360 Modena Gabrio Rosa (I) and Luca Drudi (I) are replaced by Stéphane Lemeret (B) and Loic Deman (B). The #89 JMB Ferrari 360 Modena makes its first entry as 11th GT2 car.  Drivers are 47-years old Antoine Gosse and 58-years old Peter Kutemann, seeen in earlier editions of the FIA GT Championship.

Driver changes at round #6 (Spa 24 hours) - In GT1 the two Konrad Saleens are (once more) absent. Of the Graham Nash Saleens only the #8, very reliable this year, will be entered. The #20 Polish Saleen is not entered. Also the Reiter Lamborghini will be absent. The Media Rock Racing Ferrari 575 GTC, seen at Brno, doesn't come back. Since it is a 24 hour race most teams added a third, even a fourth driver. On the #2 JMB Ferrari 575 GTC Gianni Morbidelli joins the team and Jaime Melo moves from the #3 to the #2. On the #3 JMB Ferrari GTC are added Silvio Livio, Loic Deman and Stéphane Lemeret. On the #6 Corvette Jeroen Bleekemolen is added as fourth driver. The #8 Saleen has as drivers Mike Newton, Thomas Erdos, Michael Mallock and Phil Bennett, a complete new composition of drivers. Eric van de Poele joins the #9 Maserati team. Jamie Davies joins the #10 Maserati team. Christophe Bouchut moves from the R.A.R. team to his former team, Larbre Compétition, where he and Kurt Mollekens will be co-drivers of Gabriele Gardel on the #11. Since Pedro Lamy has to drive one of the Aston Martins, he'll be replaced on the #11 by Vincent Vosse. Fréderic Bouvy joins the 3 other racers at the wheel of the #12 Larbre Compétition Ferrari 550. Jens Moller and Bobby Verdon-Roe join the Lister duo. Philipp Peter moves from the #16 Maserati to the #15 where he joins Bertolini and Wendlinger. The #16 will be driver by three new drivers: the Zwaan Bros and good old Peter Knutemann. On the Russian Ferrari Bouchut, having moved to the #11 Ferrari is replaced by Nicolas Minissian. The two Russian racers receive also Jamie Campbell-Walter as a fourth driver. On the #28 Aston Martin we find Darren Turner and David Brabham (normally on the #29) with Stéphane Sarrazin as third driver. On the #29 Aston Martin we find Pedro Lamy and Peter Cox (normally on the #28) with Marc Goossens as third driver. A new car on the grid is the #22 Renstal Excelsior Corvette, normally seen in the Belcar series. Drivers are Marc Duez, Jos Menten, Bruno Hernandez and Eric Cayrolle.Eventually there come 15 GT1 cars at the start.

The complete poverty of GT2 is obvious at Spa. Only 7 cars will show, among them the two traditional works Porsches (with Lucas Lohr as third driver on the #66, and the #88 with Stéphane Ortelli as third driver), the Czech #56 Vonka Porsche with Miro Knopka and Antonio De Castro as co-drivers of Jan Vonka) and the traditional #69 Proton Porsche where the Felbermayrs join the Rieds. The #55 Embassy Porsche is back with Sascha Maassen as third driver. The Ebimotors #74 Porsche is here for its fourth entry. Since Luigi Moccia moves to the #67 Porsche, Busnelli receives three new co-drivers: Yvan Jacoma, Andrea Sonvico and Paolo Rapetti. The #67 Autorlando Porsche makes its first entry of the season with Moccia as first driver and Joel Camathias (ex-Graham Nash) and Franco Groppi as co-drivers.
In G2 none of the Moslers is present. The #105 Vertigo has Sylvie Delcour and Jérôme d'Ambro-sio as codrivers. Here we find 10 entries, among them 7 Porschse GT3. There is also a Lambor-ghini Light and an old Viper GTS-R where former Tour de France bike specialist Richard Virenque is one of the co-drivers. The Porsche of Ian Kahn is no longer entered as a GT2 but as a simple G2 car, receiving #175 instead of #75. Here Nigel Smith has been fired. Kahn's co-drivers are now Paul Belmondo, Alain van Hove and Charles de Pauw. To make that the lower divisions look as a complete Porsche Cup four other Porsches, racing in the national G3 class are added, one of them being driven by Vanina Ickx, daughter of Jacky Ickx. So no less than 19 of the 37 entries are all Porsches. There is even not one single Ferrari 360 Modena. Especially the presence of the two totally unbeatable works Porsches of Gruppe M, makes that privateers are no longer interested in the type of competition allowed by Stéphane Ratel. If next year no other cars than Porsches can join GT2, and if works teams are still allowed in that class, it can be feared that GT2 is completely dead. The long and expensive  moves to the Asian circuits at the end of the year is another handicap to find enough competitors in the lower divisions.

Driver changes at round #7 (Oschersleben) - In GT1 the two Konrad Saleens are back. There are two new drivers on the #4: Hermann and Stahl with Konrad as third driver. On the #5 Gounon is the team mate of Lechner. The two GNM Saleens are absent. On the Polish Saleen a third driver, Lacko, has been added. The Lamborghini is back. The two GPC 575s, the RAR 550 and the #11 Larbre Compétition are their with their regular drivers. The same for three of the four Maseratis, the Corvette and the Lister. The #16 Red Bull Maserati is now in hands of Philipp Peter with Arjan van der Zwaan and Marcello Zani as co-drivers. New is the #23 Wieth Racing Ferrari 550 Maranello with Hubert Haupt and Thomas Serwin as drivers.

GT2 entry is again extremely poor. There are the two Gruppe M Porsches with their regular drivers, the #69 Proton Porsche with the Rieds, and the #56 Porsche with Jan Vonka, Mauro Casadei and the Finn Niko Nurminen as third driver.
On the Kaufmann Porsche #87 Luca Moro is the co-driver. The #74 Porsche starts with Busnelli and Moccia. The #86 GPC Ferrari 360 Modena has Claude Terrier and Tiziano Carugati as drivers (back benchers are needed!).
The Mosler is alone in G2.
In total there are only 23 starting cars.

Driver changes at round #8 (Istanbul) - The two Graham Nash Saleens seem definitively out. The two Konrad Saleens, contrarly, seem definitively back. At the wheel of the #4 we find Franz Konrad himself with Maciej Marcinkiewicz and Marco Saviozzi as co-drivers. In the #5 Robert Lechner and Paolo Ruberti are the racers. The Polish Saleen is absent. GPC has only one of its two 575GTC Ferraris on the grid, the #2. The Corvette, the Lister, the two Vitaphone Maseratis, the #11 Larbre Compétition Ferrari, #17 RAR Ferrari and the #15 JMB Maserati start all with their regular drivers. On the #16 JMB Philipp Peter has two new co-drivers: Christophe Pillon and the local Turkish Can Artam. The Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT is absent. New is the #25 Ferrari of Peter Kox and Robert Pergl, the same car as seen at the LMES series.

Poorest entry in GT2 since the start of the season. There are only 7 cars at the start. The Mosler MT900R, having won the Silverstone 24 hours, is not here. There are the four regular entrants with their regular drivers: the two Gruppe M Porsches, the #69 Proton Porsche and the #56 Jan Vonka Porsche where Nicolas Armindo joins Jan Vonka and Mauro Casadei. The ARC Bratislava Porsche is back. Here Miro Konopka has Luigi Emiliani as co-driver. The GPC Ferrari 360 Modena - moral GT2 winner at the LMES Nürburgring 1000-kms - is present with Stéphane Lemeret and Marco Lambertini as drivers. Moccia and Businelli are present with their fast #74 Ebimotors Porsche. There are NO G2 cars at the start. Total number of entries is down to only 19 cars.

Driver changes at round #9 (Zhuhai) - Of the five Saleens, having been seen earlier this year, only the two Konrad Saleens will do the three last rounds. At Zuhai the #4 will be driven by Max Stanko/Antonio Hermann/Adam Lacko. The #5 goes to Robert Lechner, Paolo Ruberto and Franz Konrad himself. The Lamborghini is out for the rest of the season. The R.A.R. Ferrari 550 is replaced by the new R.A.R. Aston Martin DBR9 with the traditional drivers. GPC and Larbre Compétition are present with one Ferrari each for their traditional drivers. During the two last rounds they will enter both their second car. Corvette is present with the same trio as always, Lister with the same duo as always. The two Vitaphone Racing Team Maseratis will be driven by their traditional drivers. The same holds for the #15 Red Bull Maserati. The #16, however, goes now in hands of Christophe Pillon, Lucca Pirri and Marcello Zani. There are 11 GT1 cars at the start.

There are 10 GT2 cars at the start in Zuhai. The two Gruppe M Porsches start with the same drivers as always. On the #56 Porsche Jan Vonka will find Mauro Casadadei and Manfred Jurasz as co-drivers. On the #57 Porsche Miro Konopka opted for Stefan Rosina as co-driver. The #69 Porsche is in hand of the Reids, just as at the previous rounds. On the #74 Porsche Luccia Mocchia opted for Christian Passutti instead of Emmanuele Businelli. New is the Noble Group/Gruppe M Porsche #68 with Matthew Marsh and Darryl O'Young as drivers. Another new car is the Spyker for Duncan Huisman and Menno Kuus. The #86 Ferrari Modena goes to Lucca Drudi/Batti Pregliasco/Jeffrey Lee. The Lammertink Porsche, now with #97 instead of #87 goes in hands of Lucca Moro and Wolfgang Kaufmann.
There are two G2 cars. One is the Belgian Vertigo, seen earlier this season, for Vanina Ickx and Bas Leinders. The other is a Lotus Exige 300RR of Amprex Motorsport.

Driver changes at round #10 (Dubai) - At Dubai we have the best entry of the 2005 season. There are 14 GT1 cars on the grid. GPC is present with its two GTC Ferraris. On the #2 Piccini and Deletraz receive Stéphane Lemeret (B) as team mate. The #3 goes to Marco Cioco and Andrea Montermini. Larbre Compétition is also present with its two Ferraris 550. The #11 is as always for Gardel/Lami. The #12 goes to Steve Zacchia, Jean-Luc Blanchemain and Vincent Vosse. The RAR Ferrari 550 goes to Vasiliev/Formenko. Their normal co-driver, Christophe Bouchut, is joined by Stéphane Ortelli on the RAR Aston Martin DBR9. The Lister is present with Haliday/Keen. The Vitaphone Maseratis have their traditional drivers. On the #15 Red Bull Maserati we find, as usual, Andrea Bertolini and Karl Wendlinger. On the #16 drivers are Peter Kuteman, Dirk Waaijenberg and Philipp Peter. The Corvette is entered with its three traditional racers. There are two Konrad Saleens. The #4 is for Max Stanko and Adam Lacko. The #5 for Robert Lechner and Paolo Ruberti.

There are 10 cars present in GT2. The two Gruppe M Porsches are driven by their traditional racers. The #69 Porsche goes again with the two Reids. On the #56 Porsche Jan Vonka is joint by Manfred Jurasz and Armand Fumal as co-drivers. On the #57 Porsche Miro Konopka opts for Stefan Rosina as co-driver. The #74 Ebi Porsche goes again to Moccia/Businelli. The #97 Lamertink Porsche is in hands of Wolfgang Kaufman and Lucca Moro. There are two Ferraris 360 GTC. The #89 JMB goes to Mauro Casadei, Chris Buncombe and Albert von Thurn und Taxis. The #86 GPC is for Luca Drudi, Gabrio Rosa and Marco Lambertini. The Spyker is again present, with Jeroen Bleekemolen and Donny Crevels as drivers.
On the Vertigo Vanina Ickx and Bas Leinders are joint in G2 by Renaud Cuppens. There is already a G3 car at the start, a Ferrari Modena 360 with Jonathan Sicart, Carine Sicart and Ange Barde as drivers.

Driver changes at round #11 (Bahrein) - One week later than Dubai we find the same 14 GT1 cars at the start. On nine of them the drivers are the same as at Dubai: on the #3 GPC Ferrarin, on the #5 Konrad Saleen, on the #6 Corvette, on the #9 and #10 Vitaphone Maseratis, on the #11 Larbre Compétition Ferrari, on the #14 Lister, on the #15 JMB Maserati and on the #18 RAR Ferrari. On the #2 GPC Ferrari Stéphane Lemeret is no longer third driver; on #4 Konrad Saleen Max Stanko is replaced by Franz Konrad himself; on the #12 Larbre Compétition Ferrari Blanchemain and Vosse are replaced by Narac/Berville as co-drivers to Steve Zacchia; on the #16 JMB Maserati Kuteman/Waaijenberg are replaced by Jamie Davies as co-driver to Robert Lechner. The Dutch duo will drive the #89 JMB Ferrari 360 GTC. Last but not least Stéphane Ortelli is replaced by Antonio Garcia on the #17 RAR Aston Martin of Christophe Bouchut.

The 10 cars in GT2 are the same as seen in Dubai. Half of them start with the same drivers: the #57 Porsche, the #66 and #88 Gruppe M Porsches, the #90 Spyker and the #97 Lammertink Porsche. On the #56 Porsche Jurasz/Famal are replaced by Mauro Casadei as co-driver to Jan Vonka. On the #69 Proton Porsche Christian Reid is replaced by Bin-Ali Al Khalifa as co-driver to Gerold Reid. On the #74 Ebi Porsche Emmanuele Businelli is replaced by Paolo Rapetti as co-driver to Lucigi Moccia. On the #86 GPC Ferrari 360 GTC Rosa/Lambertini are replaced by Luca Pirro Ardizzone as co-driver to Luca Drudi. The #89 JMB Ferrari 360 GTC goes (as earlier said) to the Dutch pairing Kuteman/Waaijenberg.
In G2 the Belgian Vertigo Streiff starts with the three same drivers as in Dubai. The G3 Ferrari 360 Modena of the Sicarts is no longer here.
