As curtain raiser for the 20th  world championship model car racing, IMCA organises on Friday July 18 and Saturday July 19 the TOBLERONE 24 HOURS FERRARI TEAM RACE for 1/24th scale 2007 Ferrari F430 Challenge cars with maximum 2 drivers per car. The race is open for the 24 teams having subscribed. The race will be contested on the same Steve Ogilvie MTT track as used for the 2007 and 2008 Worlds. Rules are similar as for the 20th IMCA Worlds (art. 6 of IMCA's Rule Book). Motor and rear tyres (2 pair) will be handouts for all cars. Initially the Toblerone Team Race was scheduled for 1973 Le Mans Classic cars. Too many of those bodies are no longer available, so that we decided to use the same Ferrari F430 Challenge cars as used at the Worlds. Some racers (with names in blue) are no entrants for those Worlds. They can deduce € 35.00 (price of the Fujimi Ferrari F430 Challenge body) from their entry fee, since they have to make extra costs to buy a Fujimi F430. The others, using their Worlds car, have no extra costs.
Together with the 20th IMCA Worlds and the 2nd Endurance Worlds (contested the following five days) the Toblerone Race remains a highlight at the 2008 IMCA Nats.
At the TOBLERONE CLASSIC WORLDS 24 cars can enter. There will be six hours of racing per car, spread over a day section, a night section, and a new day section, with runs of 8 x 15 minutes per section. Cars must be equipped with functioning lights for the night section. The drivers of the winning car win a free ticket (cost: €500) for the Spa 24 hours contested one week later. The ticket gives access to the famous and very exclusive pagodas of Publiaplic. You can hardly follow the Spa 24 hours any better than from those pagoda along the track.
Race location is at Nieuwstraat 31 B-2200 Herentals.  As hotels we recommend Hotel "De Zalm", Hotel "De Swaen" and Hotel "Aldhem". The two first named hotels are at walking distance from the racing premises; the last named is only for racers coming by car. Racers have to do the reservations themselves.
