6TH EEC & 10TH ENDURANCE WORLDS
BARCELONA FRIDAY JULY 22, 2011

THE SPLENDID COMBINATION: HOLIDAYS + RACING - click here

The 6th European Endurance Championship (2011 EEC) and the 10th Endurance Worlds will be contested with exactly the same FIA GT1 cars at scale 1/24th which were raced at the 5th EEC of end November 2010. The race will be contested on Friday July 22, 2011, immediately after the Barcelona 1st Giganten Party. Race location is CM LES FRANQUESES, C/ San Isidre s/n Nau 5, 08520 Les Franqueses in the Barcelona zone - where Francesc Reyes organised in 2006 the 18th Model Car Worlds. Track will be the Steve Ogilvie 48-metre MTT 8-laner, used since 2007 for all IMCA Model Car Worlds.
If at least 20 decent Spanish racers enter the Giganten Party and/or  the 6th EEC, the CM Les Franqueses will have the loan of the track for a period of min. 3 years. It gives them the right to organise also from 2012 thru 2014 (1) the Giganten Party, (2) the 24th, 25th and 26th Model Car Worlds and (3) the 7th, 8th and 9th EEC. In this way Spanish racers can win a mass of IOC points without having to travel abroad - making the gap with that other great model car nation, Germany, narrower than it actually is.

The races go with 1/24th copies of 2010 FIA GT1 cars and two racers per car. The EEC goes over 3 heats of 8 x 5", the Endurance Worlds over 3 sections of 3 heats of 8 x 5'. Composition of the first section at the Worlds depends upon the results of the qualifications. Composition of the second section depends upon the ranking after the first section. Composition of the third section depends upon the ranking after the second section. That last section goes in the dark with lights on. Lightning set is free. All cars have to respect art. 7 of the IMCA Rule Book.
Entry fee is € 30 per racer. At the Worlds a tyre change during race time is always obliged within the second section and must be performed in view of the race directors. All non-Spanish racers will be hosted in Hotel Hesperia del Mar in front of the Barceloneta beach, famous for its chiringuito beach bars and for its evening beach parties. Info on the hotel can be found at the bottom of this web page.
The FIA GT1 races will be driven by 16 pro racers and by 16 or more semi-pros or amateurs. There will be a separate ranking for both groups. Semi Pros/Amateurs are allowed to race with 3 racers per car. You can subscribe until July 11 for the remaining free places by sending a simple mail to jppro@pandora.be, mentioning the number of the car you wish to reserve plus the name of your team mate. 24 FIA GT1 CARS FOR THE 2011 IMCA ENDURANCE WORLDS

Since the first model car worlds, in 1985, we always tried to maintain a link as close as possible between 1/1 auto sport and slot-racing. At the Endurance Worlds we will race 1/24th copies of the 24 cars having been seen at the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship. Entry at the Endurance Worlds follows art 1.3.3. of the IMCA Rulebook.
