DECEMBER 29, 2010 - VERSION 3.5

15TH SEMI-PRO MELLO YELLO WORLDS & 8TH AMATEUR WORLDS

The 15th Semi-Pro & 8th Amateur Sprint Worlds will be contested in Barcelona on Tuesday and Wednesday July 19-20. Both events are open for 24 racers (12 semi-pros & 12 amateurs). Semi-Pros have collected less than 120 IOC points but more than 40 on the December 31 IOC-list. Amateurs collected less than 40 IOC-points on the same list. You can see how many points you have won. Both worlds are part of the Barcelona 1st Giganten Party. There, amateurs and semi-pros race exclusively cars with resin bodies, whilst pros race cars with GFK bodies
A separate ranking will be made for the non-pros driving the cars with resin bodies. At the five rounds of the Giganten Party, contested with 1973 Interserie/Canam cars, top-10 finishers in class 2 - the class of the semi-pros and the amateurs - win res. 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1 points. Ties will be broken by the number of achieved laps over the five rounds.
The 8 highest ranked amateurs (8 out of 12) after 5 rounds can contest on Wednesday evening the 8th Amateur Sprint Worlds at the end of the meeting.
The 8 highest  ranked semi-pros (8 out of 12) after 5 rounds can contest, also on Wednesday evening, the 15th Semi-Pro Sprint Worlds. Here top-10 win double points. Subscribing is done by completing the entry form which one finds here.
Non-Spanish racers will be hosted in Hotel Hesperia del Mar in front of the Barceloneta Beach. If necessary a shuttle can be installed from the hotel to the raceway.
