JPVR'S DEFINITIVE FAREWELL
STEPHAN WIESEL X-MAS TROPHY-2

Due to the success of the subscriptions for the Stephan Wiesel 2008 X-Mas Races - the 32 DRM cars of 1981 are already all reserved - another session of Group 5/Group 4 races is organised on Sunday December 21, 2008. Those races go in honour of the late Stephan Wiesel, who - together with Dieter Jens - was the founding father of model car racing. The first at the Stephan Wiesel Trophy in both divisions will receive a superb 1970/71 model car made by Stephan himself.
The Liqui Moly Stephan Wiesel X-Mas Races will be contested with 32 DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meis-terschaft) cars of the year 1978 at scale 1/24th. There will be three races over 8 x 4'on Sunday. The races will be contested at the same location of the last IMCA Worlds: at Feestzaal De Posthoorn, 49 Brusselsesteenweg, B-2600 Mechelen. Entry fee for the three races of 8 x 4 minutes is up to € 40. The complete entry fee will go to Stephan's widow Beate. It should be great if some Wiesel friends could show at the meeting. Or are we supposed to bring the money by car to Neumünster if nobody shows? Should be strange, no?
The 32 cars are spread over two groups. Group 5 Div 1 is restricted to racers having collected in their racing career more than 10 IOC points. If you have no idea how many points you won, then click here and look at your name in the alphabetic IOC-list. Group 5 Div 2 is restricted to racers having won 10 IOC points or less in their racing career. Everybody is welcome, but only the 32 first subscribers will be accepted. There is only one racer per car.
Points system is as follows: top 10 in Group 5 Div 1 (16 cars) win res. 20, 15, 12, 10,8, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point(s). Same for top 10 in Group 5 Div 2 (16 cars).
Racers can subscribe by completing the subscription form (lower on this page) by March 31, 2008. By August 1 they have to send us a pic of their RTR car. If not in time, those subscribers will be replaced by the first substitutes on the list of subscribers.
IMPORTANT NOTE 1: Racers having already subscribed for the 1981 version cannot subscribe a second time for the 1978 version.
IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Among the 32 cars one finds three Group 5 Escorts. A resin version of that body will be available mid-February at a price of € 59.00.[Ph. DC]
